Chapter 2: The Room with No Window
Jae-min woke to screaming.
Not his own.
He opened the door and stepped into the hall.
Other students peeked out too—some with bandaged eyes, others with glowing veins.
“First night,” someone muttered. “Always the worst.”
He followed the voice down the corridor, past classrooms that pulsed like organs.
Until he found the source of the screaming.
Room 313.
The door was sealed with chains. But light—black and cold—poured from the cracks.
A girl stood nearby.
Tall. Pale. Hair like ink.
She turned to him.
“You’re the fire-curse, right?”
He blinked. “How do you—”
“I’m Mira. I dream of how people die. Yours was… impressive.”
He wanted to leave.
But the door to 313 creaked open.
No handle. No lock. Just silence.
Inside, it was pitch black.
And then…
A voice: “You shouldn’t be here.”
It wasn’t human.
But it knew his name.
